Longquan sword, also known as Longyuan sword, began in the Spring and Autumn Warring States period, more than 2,600 years ago, is the ancient Chinese sword, the sword of good faith and high-quality. Legend has it that the two swordsmen, Ou Ye zi and Gan Zang, cooperated to cast the sword.

It is said that Ou Ye zi and Gan Zang chiselled through the mountains, released the mountain stream water, leading to the sword casting furnace next to the seven pools of the North Pole Seven-Star ring, that is known as “Seven Stars”. After the sword has been made, if one looks down the sword, they feel as if climbing the mountain and looking down into the abyss, that is so ethereal and deep that there seems to be dragons lying on. It is called “Dragon Abyss Sword”. Therefore named this sword “Seven-Star Dragon Abyss”, or “Dragon Abyss Sword” for short.

During the Tang Dynasty, because of avoiding the taboo word Li Yuan Tang Gao Zu,  the word “yuan” was changed to “quan” word, “Seven-Star Dragon Spring”, or  “Dragon Spring Sword” for short.
