An enlightened master is a spiritually advanced being who has achieved profound spiritual insight and liberation, enabling them to guide others on their path. They are often seen as having transcended self-interest and ego, with a deep understanding of truth and the ability to help others achieve their own enlightenment. In many traditions, they may appear as a spiritual teacher or guru, though some truly enlightened masters may not speak, instead guiding through their presence. Open Source.
Speaking of the two words ‘enlightened master’, the Hoa Hao Buddhist followers cannot help but mention the story of Mr. Cu Da mentioning his encounter with Buddha Master Buu Son who then accepted him as a disciple, on the arduous path of seeking a master and learning the Dharma. In the Oracle Vol. I, Lord Master Huynh Giao Chu, who was then Mr. Cu Da, later renamed to Ngoc Thanh, wrote as follows:
God blessing, when I was rambling,
I met the Master of the Jewel Mountain.
Bowing, I had my vows explained,
Please kindly be my master.
He saw Crazy is too genuine by character,
Within six ke, I have known Predestiny.
